Students of San Marcos High School are empowered, self-regulated learners who embody the SMUSD Portrait of a Graduate—demonstrating adaptability, communication, critical thinking, empathy, and leadership as they prepare to contribute with honor, wisdom, and unity to their personal, local, and global communities.

Throughout their time at SMHS, students will demonstrate growth in their ability to:

   Think critically and creatively to deepen understanding, analyze information, and make informed, evidence-based decisions. Apply a learner’s mindset that is rational, open-minded, and informed by multiple perspectives.
