Knights of the Round Table (KORT)
Mission
The mission of the San Marcos High School Knights of the Round Table (KORT) is to serve as positive role models for the youth of the City of San Marcos. KORT members are committed to making responsible choices and living a drug- and alcohol-free lifestyle.
Knight Pride is more than a title, it is a way of life demonstrated through leadership, school spirit, and active support of both our campus and the greater community.
Eligibility & Selection Process
All current 11th grade students with a minimum overall GPA of 2.5 are invited to apply to become a KORT Ambassador.
Applications submitted by the April 10th deadline will be reviewed by a selection committee. A select group of applicants will be invited to participate in a final interview. Up to 18 students will be selected to serve as Knights of the Round Table.
KORT Ambassadors proudly represent San Marcos High School while serving as mentors and leaders to younger students and their peers.
Eligibility Requirements:
•Current junior (rising senior)
•Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5
•Active involvement in extracurricular and/or co-curricular activities
•Demonstrated commitment to positive leadership and clean living
•Willingness to serve as a role model on campus and in the community
•Duties & Responsibilities
KORT members are expected to:
•Participate in graduation practice(s) and the graduation ceremony
•Participate in the Freshman Knighthood Assembly
•Visit elementary schools throughout the school year
•Participate in 8th grade visits and Parent Night at SMHS
•Assist with additional school and community events as needed
